Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 4 cups cubed seedless watermelon, chilled
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, packed
- 1 tablespoon lime juice, freshly squeezed
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- 1/4 cup water or coconut water
Optional Ingredients
- A pinch of sea salt
- Ice cubes
- Watermelon wedges and mint sprigs for garnish
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: Add the cubed watermelon, Greek yogurt, mint leaves, lime juice, honey or maple syrup, and water or coconut water to your blender.
- Blend on Low Speed: Start blending on a low speed to gently combine all ingredients and get everything moving inside the blender.
- Increase Speed: Gradually increase the blending speed to high and blend until the mixture is completely smooth, which should take about 1-2 minutes.
- Check Consistency: Assess the thickness of the smoothie; if it’s too thick, add more water or coconut water one tablespoon at a time and blend again. If it’s too thin, add ice cubes and blend to thicken.
- Taste and Adjust: Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness by adding more honey or maple syrup if needed, add more lime juice for extra zing, or a pinch of sea salt to enhance the flavors.
- Add Ice (Optional): For a colder, thicker smoothie, add additional ice cubes and blend briefly.
- Pour into Glasses: Pour the finished watermelon smoothie into serving glasses.
- Garnish (Optional): Garnish each glass with a watermelon wedge and a sprig of fresh mint for a beautiful presentation.
- Serve Immediately: Serve the smoothie immediately to enjoy optimum freshness and flavor.
Notes
- Use chilled watermelon cubes to keep the smoothie naturally cold without diluting flavor.
- Adjust the sweetness and tartness to your taste by varying honey/maple syrup and lime juice.
- Substitute coconut water for added electrolytes and a tropical twist.
- Mint adds a refreshing herbal note; can be omitted if not preferred.
- For a vegan version, use plant-based yogurt instead of Greek yogurt.
