  • Author: Jack
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

This Shrimp and Broccoli Alfredo is a creamy, comforting pasta dish featuring tender shrimp and nutritious broccoli tossed in a rich Alfredo sauce with fettuccine. Ready in under 30 minutes, it combines the flavors of garlic, cheese, and pepper for a classic Italian-inspired meal perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 8 ounces Fettuccine

Seafood and Vegetables

  • 2 cups Small Cooked Shrimp, Tail-Off
  • 2 cups Frozen Broccoli

Seasonings and Sauce

  • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 jar Alfredo Sauce (approximately 15 ounces)
  • 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to the package instructions until al dente, typically about 10-12 minutes. Drain the pasta, reserving ½ cup of the cooking water, and set aside.
  2. Prepare shrimp and broccoli: While the pasta cooks, heat a large skillet over medium heat on the stovetop. Add the cooked shrimp and frozen broccoli to the skillet. Season with kosher salt and ground black pepper.
  3. Heat shrimp and broccoli: Cook the shrimp and broccoli, stirring occasionally, until they are heated through and most of the liquid has evaporated, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the skillet from the heat once done.
  4. Toss pasta and sauce: Add the cooked fettuccine back to the skillet with the shrimp and broccoli. Pour in the reserved pasta cooking liquid and the jar of Alfredo sauce. Toss everything together gently to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce and combine all ingredients well.
  5. Serve: Plate the shrimp and broccoli Alfredo and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top before serving warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute fresh broccoli for frozen if preferred; just steam or blanch beforehand.
  • Use pre-cooked shrimp to reduce cooking time and simplify preparation.
  • Reserve some pasta water to adjust the sauce consistency and help it cling better to the pasta.
  • For a lower-fat version, choose a light Alfredo sauce or make your own using Greek yogurt and milk.
  • To add extra flavor, consider sautéing minced garlic with the shrimp and broccoli before adding the sauce.
