Ingredients
Scale
Slider Ingredients
- 12 Hawaiian rolls
- 16 ounces breakfast sausage
- 6 large eggs
- 4 ounces Colby jack cheese slices
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Syrup Glaze
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350˚F to prepare for baking the sliders after assembly.
- Cook Sausage: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the breakfast sausage, breaking it apart with a spoon or spatula until fully cooked and browned. Remove the sausage and optionally drain on paper towels.
- Prepare Scrambled Eggs: Crack the eggs into the same skillet, season with salt and pepper, and reduce heat to low. Cook covered, stirring occasionally, until eggs are set but still tender. Shape the eggs into a rectangle and remove from heat.
- Make Syrup Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter and maple syrup until fully combined.
- Assemble Sliders: Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally. Layer the bottom halves with scrambled eggs, cooked sausage, and cheese slices. Replace the tops of the rolls, then carefully use a serrated knife to cut between each slider to separate them.
- Glaze and Bake: Brush the syrup glaze generously over the tops of the rolls. Place the sliders in the oven and bake for 18-22 minutes until hot and cheese has melted.
Notes
- For a spicier variation, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sausage while cooking.
- If you prefer, substitute Colby jack cheese with cheddar or your favorite melting cheese.
- To make ahead, assemble the sliders, cover, and refrigerate overnight before baking.
- Use a serrated knife for clean slider cuts without squashing the rolls.
- Drain sausage well to avoid soggy sliders.
