Rudolph Oreo Balls Recipe

  • Author: Jack
  • Total Time: 1 hour 30 minutes (including chilling time)
  • Yield: Approximately 20 Oreo balls 1x

Description

These festive Rudolph Oreo Balls are a delightful no-bake treat perfect for holiday celebrations. Combining crushed Oreo cookies with creamy cream cheese, they’re shaped into bite-sized balls, dipped in rich dark chocolate, and decorated with candy eyes, red M&M noses, and pretzel antlers to create adorable reindeer-themed snacks that are as fun to make as they are to eat.

Ingredients

Scale

Base

  • 1 regular package Oreos (approximately 36 cookies)
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened

Coating & Decoration

  • 10 oz. Ghirardelli’s dark chocolate melting wafers
  • 20 pretzels, broken in half (for antlers)
  • 20 red M&M’s (for noses)
  • 40 candy eyes

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: In a blender, add four to five Oreo cookies at a time and blend until finely crushed. Transfer the crushed cookies to a mixing bowl. Repeat this process until the entire package of Oreos is blended.
  2. Mix with Cream Cheese: Add the softened cream cheese to the crushed Oreo mixture. Using a hand mixer, blend the ingredients thoroughly until well combined and smooth. This mixture will form the base of your Oreo balls.
  3. Shape the Balls: Roll the Oreo and cream cheese mixture into approximately one tablespoon-sized balls. Place each ball on a plate lined for easy transfer. Once shaped, store the balls in the refrigerator for one hour to firm up.
  4. Melt the Chocolate: While the balls chill, melt the Ghirardelli dark chocolate wafers according to the package instructions until smooth and ready for dipping.
  5. Dip and Decorate: Dip each Oreo ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring they are fully coated. Place the dipped balls onto parchment or freezer paper, shiny side up. Before the chocolate sets, quickly press two candy eyes and one red M&M onto each ball to form the face. Then, press half a pretzel into the top of each ball to resemble Rudolph’s antlers.
  6. Repair Decorations if Needed: If any decorations fall off, use a small amount of melted chocolate on the back as edible glue to reattach them securely.
  7. Set and Store: Allow the chocolate to fully dry and harden before serving. Store the finished Rudolph Oreo Balls in the refrigerator for up to one week to keep them fresh.

Notes

  • Use softened cream cheese for easier mixing and smoother texture.
  • Ensure the chocolate is fully melted and smooth for a clean coating.
  • Work quickly when adding decorations so they adhere before the chocolate hardens.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge to maintain freshness for up to one week.
  • These treats are perfect for holiday parties and kid-friendly events.
