Description
These whimsical Rudolph Nutter Butter treats combine the crunch of pretzels and the sweetness of Nutter Butter cookies, all coated in rich dark chocolate and decorated with festive candy eyes and red M&Ms to create a fun holiday snack that’s easy to make and perfect for parties or gift-giving.
Ingredients
Scale
Cookies and Toppings
- 10 Nutter Butter cookies
- 10 pretzels, broken in half
- 20 candy eyeball sprinkles
- 10 red M&Ms
Chocolate Coating
- 1 bag (about 10 oz) Ghirardelli dark chocolate melting wafers
Instructions
- Melt the Chocolate: Following the instructions on the package, gently melt the Ghirardelli dark chocolate melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler until smooth and glossy.
- Dip the Cookies: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each Nutter Butter cookie into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is well coated. Then, carefully place the dipped cookie onto a sheet of freezer paper or parchment paper with the shiny side facing up.
- Add Pretzel Antlers: Immediately press two halves of broken pretzel onto the top of each chocolate-coated cookie to resemble antlers. The chocolate will act as an adhesive to hold them in place.
- Apply Eyes and Nose: Just below the pretzel antlers, place two candy eyeball sprinkles on each cookie to make Rudolf’s eyes. Add one red M&M at the bottom center as the signature red nose.
- Allow to Set: Let the decorated cookies sit at room temperature or in the refrigerator until the chocolate hardens completely, ensuring the decorations are firmly attached.
- Serve and Enjoy: Once the chocolate is set, arrange your Rudolph Nutter Butters on a festive platter and serve immediately, or store them in an airtight container for later enjoyment.
Notes
- Use freezer paper or parchment paper to prevent sticking and ease cleanup.
- To speed up the setting process, refrigerate the cookies after decorating.
- For a milk chocolate or white chocolate variation, substitute the dark chocolate melting wafers accordingly.
- These make excellent holiday gifts when packaged in festive boxes or bags.
- If candy eyeball sprinkles are unavailable, small white and black icing dots can be substituted to make the eyes.
