Ingredients
Scale
Beef Mixture
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 sweet yellow onion, diced
- 1.5 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon ground pepper
- 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
Sliders
- 24 slider rolls
- 6 ounces provolone cheese, thinly sliced
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F to prepare for baking the sliders later.
- Cook Beef and Vegetables: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef, diced onion, and diced green bell pepper. Cook, breaking apart the meat with a spatula, for 8-10 minutes until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat thoroughly.
- Season and Combine with Cream Cheese: Stir in garlic powder, salt, ground pepper, and onion powder into the beef mixture. Mix in the softened cream cheese until everything is well combined and creamy.
- Assemble Sliders: Slice the slider rolls horizontally and lay the bottom halves in a 9×13 baking dish. Evenly spread the beef and cream cheese mixture over the rolls. Layer the provolone cheese slices on top, then place the tops of the rolls back on to form sandwiches.
- Prepare and Apply Butter Mixture: Combine the melted butter with garlic salt. Cut between each slider to separate them slightly and brush the butter mixture evenly over the tops of the rolls.
- Bake: Place the assembled sliders in the preheated oven and bake for 20-30 minutes, or until heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
- For a more authentic Philly cheesesteak flavor, you can substitute thinly sliced cooked steak for ground beef.
- Feel free to add sautéed mushrooms if desired for added flavor.
- Brush the tops with garlic butter generously for a golden, flavorful crust.
- These sliders are best served warm fresh out of the oven but can be reheated gently in the oven or microwave.
- You can use hoagie rolls instead of slider rolls if you want larger sandwiches.
