  • Author: Jack
  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 12 sliders 1x

Description

These Jalapeno Popper Chicken Sliders combine the creamy heat of jalapenos and cream cheese with shredded chicken and sharp cheddar cheese, all nestled in soft Hawaiian sweet rolls. Perfectly seasoned and baked until golden brown, these sliders make a delicious appetizer or snack with a flavorful kick.

Ingredients

Scale

Slider Ingredients

  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 6 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup pickled jalapeno peppers, diced
  • 3 cups shredded chicken
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Topping

  • 2 tablespoons Challenge Butter Lawry’s Seasoned Salt Snack Spread

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350˚F (175˚C) so it is ready to bake the sliders perfectly.
  2. Mix Cream Cheese and Jalapenos: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and diced pickled jalapeno peppers thoroughly to get an even distribution of spicy flavor.
  3. Assemble the Sliders: Slice the Hawaiian sweet rolls horizontally, then lay the bottom halves in a baking dish. Spread the jalapeno-cream cheese mixture evenly over the bottoms. Next, layer the shredded chicken on top and gently press it into the cream cheese. Sprinkle shredded sharp cheddar cheese over the chicken, then place the top halves of the rolls back on.
  4. Cut the Sandwiches: Using a serrated knife, carefully cut between each sandwich to separate the sliders while keeping them in the dish.
  5. Prepare the Butter Topping: Melt the Challenge Butter Lawry’s Seasoned Salt Snack Spread and brush it liberally over the tops of the rolls and in between the sliders for added flavor and browning.
  6. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until the cheese has melted and the tops of the sliders turn golden brown. Serve hot immediately for best enjoyment.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add more diced jalapenos or use fresh jalapenos instead of pickled.
  • You can substitute the shredded chicken with shredded rotisserie chicken for convenience.
  • Ensure the cream cheese is softened to make mixing with jalapenos easier and smoother.
  • Brush the butter mixture generously; this helps to create a nice golden crust on the sliders.
  • These sliders are best served fresh from the oven but can be reheated in the oven to maintain crispness.
