Chocolate Base:
- 1 bar of 72% cocoa Ghirardelli Chocolate (3.5 oz)
Cocoa Paste:
- 2/3 cup Hershey’s cocoa powder
- Water
Hot Chocolate:
- 1 gallon Vitamin D Milk
- 1 1/3 cups granulated white sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- Small pinch of nutmeg (optional)
Toppings:
- Whipped topping (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Chocolate Base: Turn on the instant pot via the slow cook button. Chop the chocolate bar and place it into the pot. Stir quickly as it melts and add the milk.
- Make Cocoa Paste: Mix cocoa powder with water to form a thick paste. Add it to the instant pot and stir.
- Add Sugar: Stir in the sugar to taste.
- Optional Spices: Add cinnamon and nutmeg if desired.
- Cook: Cover the pot and stir occasionally. After 2 hours, the hot chocolate will be ready.
- Serve: Top with whipped cream and cinnamon before serving.
