  • 1 bar of 72% cocoa Ghirardelli Chocolate (3.5 oz)

Cocoa Paste:

  • 2/3 cup Hershey’s cocoa powder
  • Water

Hot Chocolate:

  • 1 gallon Vitamin D Milk
  • 1 1/3 cups granulated white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • Small pinch of nutmeg (optional)

Toppings:

  • Whipped topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Chocolate Base: Turn on the instant pot via the slow cook button. Chop the chocolate bar and place it into the pot. Stir quickly as it melts and add the milk.
  2. Make Cocoa Paste: Mix cocoa powder with water to form a thick paste. Add it to the instant pot and stir.
  3. Add Sugar: Stir in the sugar to taste.
  4. Optional Spices: Add cinnamon and nutmeg if desired.
  5. Cook: Cover the pot and stir occasionally. After 2 hours, the hot chocolate will be ready.
  6. Serve: Top with whipped cream and cinnamon before serving.
