Almond Coffee Base

  • 1/2 cup Almonds
  • 4 cups Milk
  • 1/4 cup Rice Flour
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar

Spices and Garnish

  • Ground Cinnamon, to taste
  • Ground Cardamom, to taste
  • Slivered Almonds, to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil Almonds: Boil the almonds in water for 2 minutes to soften their skins and prepare them for grinding.
  2. Grind Almonds: Peel the boiled almonds, then grind them in a food processor or mortar until granules reach about 2-3 millimeters in diameter, providing texture and flavor.
  3. Heat Milk and Sugar: In a pot, combine 3 cups of the milk with the granulated sugar and heat over medium until it reaches a boil, stirring continuously to dissolve the sugar.
  4. Remove from Heat: Once boiling, remove the pot from the heat temporarily to prepare the rice flour mixture.
  5. Dissolve Rice Flour: In the remaining cup of milk, dissolve the rice flour completely to avoid lumps, then add this mixture back into the hot milk while stirring.
  6. Cook Almond Coffee Mixture: Return the pot to the heat, add the ground almonds, and stir continuously until the mixture thickens to the desired consistency.
  7. Add Spices: Stir in ground cinnamon and ground cardamom according to your preferred taste to enhance the aromatic profile of the drink.
  8. Serve: Pour the hot almond coffee into serving cups carefully.
  9. Garnish: Sprinkle additional ground cinnamon and slivered almonds on top as a garnish to add flavor and texture.
