Firecracker Margarita Recipe

  • Author: Jack
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 cocktail 1x

Description

A spicy and refreshing Firecracker Margarita with a tangy Tajin and salt rim, featuring silver tequila, triple sec, jalapeño slices for heat, and a splash of soda water for fizz. Perfect for those who enjoy a zesty twist on the classic margarita.

Ingredients

Scale

Rim Mixture

  • 1 tablespoon Tajin
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Lime (for rimming)

Cocktail

  • 2 fluid ounces Silver Tequila
  • 1 fluid ounce Triple Sec
  • 1 Lime (juiced)
  • 0.5 fluid ounce Simple Syrup
  • 2 Jalapeño Pepper Slices
  • Ice (as needed)
  • 1 splash Soda Water
  • 1 Lime (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Rim: Mix 1 tablespoon of Tajin and 1 teaspoon of salt on a small plate. Run a lime around the rim of your glass to moisten it, then dip the rim into the chili-lime mixture to coat it evenly. Set the glass aside.
  2. Mix the Cocktail: In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 fluid ounces of silver tequila, 1 fluid ounce of triple sec, the juice of one lime, 0.5 fluid ounce of simple syrup, and 2 slices of jalapeño pepper. Add ice as needed to fill the shaker, then shake vigorously until well chilled.
  3. Fill the Glass: Fill your prepared glass with fresh ice cubes. Strain the margarita mixture from the shaker into the glass over the ice.
  4. Add Fizz: Top the margarita with a splash of soda water or a fizzy pop to add some effervescence to the cocktail.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Garnish the drink with a lime wedge. For a festive touch, you can light a mini sparkler before serving—just be sure to handle it safely.

Notes

  • Adjust the number of jalapeño slices based on your preferred spice level.
  • Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor.
  • You can substitute soda water with a lemon-lime soda for a sweeter, fizzier option.
  • Ensure the glass rim is evenly coated with the Tajin and salt mix for the authentic flavor kick.
  • Always be cautious when lighting sparklers indoors or near flammable objects.
