Squid Rings and Tentacles:
- 1 lb squid rings and tentacles (thawed)
Marinade:
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp salt
Breading Mixture:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
For Frying:
- 4–6 cups avocado oil
- Salt (to taste)
Instructions
- Prepare the Squid: Thaw squid rings and tentacles. If needed, slice the squid tubes into rings.
- Marinate: Combine milk, lemon juice, and salt. Marinate squid in the fridge for 30 minutes to 2 hours.
- Prepare the Breading Mixture: Mix flour, baking powder, black pepper, oregano, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
- Coat the Calamari: Coat squid in breading mixture.
- Fry the Calamari: Heat oil, fry calamari until golden brown.
- Drain and Season: Remove calamari, sprinkle with salt.
